Jenzabar looks forward to bringing new opportunities for the College to collaborate with fellow institutions that share its mission and goals.
Boston, MA (Vocus) September 30, 2009
Jenzabar®, Inc., a leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, announced today that Sitting Bull College, based in Fort Yates, North Dakota, has purchased the Jenzabar EX enterprise resource planning system. The College represents the 15th institution of higher education to join the Jenzabar EX Tribal Consortium.
After learning about the many benefits peer tribal schools receive through their participation in the Jenzabar EX Tribal College Consortium, Sitting Bull College recognized that it was not achieving maximum efficiency with its software system, and decided to migrate to the Jenzabar EX enterprise technology solution. The College purchased Jenzabar EX to gather institutional-wide data in real time, allowing administrators to perform more effectively, improve their overall administrative operations, and deliver a higher level of student service. Sitting Bull College administrators were also impressed with the Jenzabar team that developed a custom phased implementation process.
In addition to Sitting Bull College, members of the Jenzabar EX Tribal Consortium include Chief Dull Knife College, Dine College, Fort Berthold Community College, Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Community College, Little Big Horn College, Little Priest Tribal College, Navajo Technical College, Northwest Indian College, Oglala Lakota College, Salish Kootenai College, Sinte Gleska University, Tohono O’Odham Community College, Turtle Mountain Community College, and United Tribes Technical College.
Jenzabar EX, offered on the Microsoft® SQL® Server platform, delivers key student information and business data to offices across the campus, helping institutions optimize their performance and achieve critical objectives. The Jenzabar EX Tribal Consortium enables tribal higher education institutions to collaborate and learn best practices for leveraging their software solutions.
“Jenzabar was the ideal solution for Sitting Bull because of their experience accommodating the unique needs of tribal colleges,” said Koreen Ressler, Vice President of Academics at Sitting Bull College. “Jenzabar’s ERP system will allow us to effectively manage data in a single database and help us streamline operations across the entire campus.”
Sitting Bull College is a Tribal college located on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in south central North Dakota and north central South Dakota, offering four-year and two-year programs in many subject areas, including Business, Education, Environmental Science, Native American Studies, Nursing and Criminal Justice. The College serves as the primary educational institution on the Standing Rock Reservation and is committed to improving the levels of education and training, economic, and social development of the people it serves while promoting responsible behavior consistent with the Lakota/Dakota culture and language.
“We welcome Sitting Bull College to the Jenzabar EX Tribal Consortium,” said Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Jenzabar Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Jenzabar looks forward to bringing new opportunities for the College to collaborate with fellow institutions that share its mission and goals.”
