Highland Hall Waldorf School is pleased to announce the second season of its Summer Day Camp. The program builds on the school's 55 year history as the west coast's oldest Waldorf school. Led by experienced Waldorf teachers and camp counselors, it offers parents a stress-free summer camp alternative for their children ages 3 - 12 years. Native flowers and trees, a biodynamic farm, orchard and a chicken coop on the school's 11-acre campus in the hills of Northridge provide a magical environment where children can relax while learning, exploring, creating, and enjoying good old fashioned fun!

"The program is designed to engage the child's imagination and sense of wonder with a variety of meaningful and enriching activities, creating a summer filled with lasting memories with new and old friends," says the camp's director, Launa Prince. "And of course you don't have to attend Highland Hall during the school year to enjoy our camp."

Activities for campers entering 2nd to 7th grade will include theater arts, woodworking, games, art, handcrafts, gardening, storytelling, music, water play and sports with access to the school's air conditioned gym, classrooms, woodshop, sports fields, shaded play areas and biodynamic vegetable gardens and orchard.

Early Childhood campers (3 years - 1st grade) will enjoy water play, baking, cooking, storytelling, art, handcrafts, creative play in Highland Hall's magical gardens and play yard, complete with safe and sturdy play equipment and shaded sandbox, or in the school's warm and home-like kindergarten classrooms, furnished with beautiful handmade, natural toys.

"No competition, no stress, all fun...for after all, as Albert Einstein once wrote, ‘Play is the highest form of research’," adds Highland Hall's administrative director, Lynn Kern.

Week-long sessions run from June 24 - August 9 from 9 am - 3pm with pre-care from 8am and extended care until 6 pm. Camp runs Monday - Friday with three and five day options available. For more information or to enroll go to http://www.highlandhall.org/SummerCamp.
