Email integration of Highrise with Gmail occurs via the auto-discovery of messages in Gmail folders; relevant messages are automatically forwarded into Highrise.

For Gmail contacts, Highrise tags can be kept in sync with Google contact groups so that each HR tag will have a corresponding Google group name. For many users, this makes it easier to do mass tagging/grouping from Gmail, where the interface is more user-friendly for assigning groups to multiple contacts.
