In an economy where jobs are being lost at a staggering rate, American Pool Enterprises has plenty of job opportunities available to people of all ages. As part of the hiring drive, American Pool Enterprises is officially launching a promotion to give away a new car to an eligible employee.

While many jobless Americans are drowning in debt with limited prospects for employment, American Pool Enterprises, Inc. is throwing out a life ring by hiring 3,300 employees during this current economic crisis. Offering flexible hours and full and part-time positions, the company hopes to help those in need of work by providing a rewarding job opportunity. Employment as a lifeguard is available to anyone at least 15-years-old who becomes certified by a nationally recognized program. American Pool Enterprises, Inc. offers free training and certification to all its employees.

Positions are available in the following locations: Long Island, NY; Hudson Valley, NY; New Jersey; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Baltimore; Ocean City, MD; Atlanta; Raleigh, NC; Northern Virginia; Washington, D.C. and surrounding areas. As part of their recruitment efforts, American Pool Enterprises has also announced "Guard for Life, Ride for Life," a promotion where lifeguards employed by American Pool Enterprises this summer will be eligible to win a new 2009 Chevrolet Aveo.

"This is an exciting time for our organization. We are pleased to offer rewarding career opportunities during these hard economic times," says Mitchell Friedlander, President and CEO of American Pool Enterprises, Inc. "Our Guard for Life, Ride for Life promotion is our way of giving back to our employees while supporting the American auto industry."

Lifeguards spend their summers outdoors enjoying fresh air and sunshine, and learn skills useful beyond the gates of the swimming pool, including first-aid, safety and customer service. A position as a lifeguard shows dedication, responsibility and commitment and can be a great resume builder for those just starting out in the workforce. While many areas have year-round swimming facilities, those seeking seasonal employment can easily return the following summer, so long as their certification remains current. Lifeguards frequently return season after season because the job is accommodating, educational and above all, fun. A position as a lifeguard can also be a jumping off point to other seasonal and full-time careers such as lifeguard instructors, area supervisors, regional managers and aquatic construction.

The "Guard for Life, Ride for Life" grand prize is a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5. To be entered in the drawing, specific criteria set forth by American Pool Enterprises must be met and the lifeguard must be in good standing at the end of the pool season. Additional details on the contest and information about becoming a lifeguard are available at the company's website. The drawing will take place on September 30, 2009 at the corporate office, broadcast online live via webcam.
