Suzanne and Craig Sheumaker, authors of the highly praised new travel book 'America's Living History-The Early Years,' have launched what will be a regular series of history-oriented travel articles on the website AmericasLivingHistory.com.
Jackson, CA (PRWEB) July 12, 2007 -- Suzanne and Craig Sheumaker, authors of the highly praised new travel book 'America's Living History-The Early Years,' have launched what will be a regular series of history-oriented travel articles on the website AmericasLivingHistory.com. Their initial focus is on America's most formative years -- the time before the 1840s westward movement. Features will cover national and state historical parks, historic landmarks and living history museums scattered throughout the United States.
"Our goal is to provide not only travel tips but also perspective on how history travel has value in today's world. After driving more than 125,000 miles in all 50 states, we have learned much that we hope will be useful to others," says Suzanne Sheumaker. The first article is Illinois Historical Places. In it, the Sheumakers talk about four attractions located in southwestern Illinois. Each of these places tells a compelling story - about Abraham Lincoln, America's Native Peoples, French colonialism or Mormon history.

This husband-and-wife team has a passion for exploring and discovering. Suzanne Sheumaker is a professional writer who began her career promoting world travel, went on to write about other topics and then returned to travel writing in recent years. Craig Sheumaker is a professional graphic designer and commercial photographer. While searching out scenic locations for Craig's stock photography business, they became intrigued by the many historical places that bring America's past to life.
