Hobbs one of only 515 Appraisal Institute® members to receive designations in 2012

Designations are a clear indication of professionals' willingness to invest in themselves to advance the professionalism of the valuation industry.

For more than 75 years, the Appraisal Institute® has been the world’s leading organization of professional real estate appraisers. The organization has led the way in fostering and promoting the highest standards of practice through its designation programs, peer review process and education, research and publishing endeavors.

In 2012, 515 members of the Appraisal Institute® received designations, with 88 receiving the SRA designation and 427 receiving the MAI designation.

In 2012, Michael Hobbs earned the SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute® by fulfilling extensive requirements including: rigorous education requirements, review of residential experience by peer designated members, successfully complete a demonstration of knowledge requirement, and conduct his professional activities in accordance with the Appraisal Institute® Code of Professional Ethics and are subject to a peer review process, which enforces the Code of Professional Ethics.

Additionally, Appraisal Institute® SRA designated members are required to adhere to strict continuing education requirements to ensure they are up-to-date with the evolving real estate field.

The SRA professional membership designation is held by real estate solutions providers who are experienced in the analysis and valuation of residential real property. Currently, Michael Hobbs, SRA, LEED GA, is the President of PahRoo Appraisal & Consultancy, a multidisciplinary real estate appraisal and consulting firm founded in 2000. He is a state-certified real estate appraiser in Illinois, performing court testimony as an expert witness in various local, state and federal courts. He holds the RAA designation from the National Association of Realtors and has achieved LEED GA, an accreditation of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). He is a regularly published author and speaker on the topic of real estate, valuation and entrepreneurship. He is also a board member of The Entrepreneur Organization (EO) Chicago Chapter, a global network of more than 8,000 business owners in 40 countries.
