On Tuesday June 26th, pro snowboarder, Eero Niemela of Cardiff-by-the Sea, California, hit a hole in one worth $25,000 cash paid for by hole in one insurance provider US Hole In One. Using his 9-Iron, Niemela aced hole #4 which was playing 171 yards that day. The tournament took place at Trump National Golf Club in Palos Verdes, CA and was to benefit the Sheckler Foundation. The Sheckler Foundation was founded in 2008 by pro skateboarder, Ryan Scheckler. The foundation raises money for various charities but remains focused on their main goal which is to help children and action athletes who have been injured doing the sports they love. This year’s tournament raised $150,000 for Sheckler Foundation's Be the Change program.
The hole in one insurance was provided by US Hole In One and was sponsored by Skyler Brucher, CEO of Loyalsky Apparel. This was Brucher’s first time sponsoring a hole in one contest and he was quite pleased that he had a winner but even happier that he purchased hole in one insurance.
