Holiday Decorating Made Simple
Sam’s Club asked home décor expert and event planner Andrea Correale of Elegant Affairs to share her fun and affordable holiday decorating ideas. Visit http://www3.samsclub.com/NewsRoom/Videos/903 to see her ideas. Correale also has these general tips:
Choose a Motif – Select a decorating motif that coordinates with existing home décor or a favorite holiday theme. Use keepsake ornaments to complement the theme, or choose one of Sam’s Club’s pre-packaged themed ornament sets including “Shades of Glamour,” “Sweet,” “Traditional” or “Icy Dreams.”
Trim the Tree – Save time by using a pre-lit artificial Christmas tree. Before trimming the tree, spread the tree branches out evenly to ensure the tree looks full. Use Sam’s Club decorative ribbon to create a tree topper. Place the tree topper on first and work from the top down. Use coordinating ribbon as garland or to create mini-versions of the tree topper. As a final touch, hang Sam’s Club shatterproof ornaments throughout the tree to fill in any remaining empty spaces.
Decorate the Entire House – To get a professionally designed look, incorporate the holiday motif throughout the entire house. Use remaining décor items, including ribbon, garland, lights and ornaments to decorate chandeliers and mirrors or to make beautiful napkin rings and centerpieces.
Keepsake Ornaments – Incorporate keepsake ornaments on the tree when possible or display on table tops or other areas throughout the home to honor the past and special mementos.
