There are no signs that last year’s budget-busting staycation trend is about to end. In fact, VisitEngland recently reported that over half the UK’s population will be taking more UK based holidays in 2010 and beyond. But does that include London?
On the surface, the outlook for London is not good. Keen to make up for lost time and revenue, London’s hotels are once more lifting their prices, which is not great news for the staycationers.
But it’s not all bad new for visitors to London
There are alternatives to expensive hotels and they don’t have to be budget. Serviced apartments, aparthotels or holiday apartments are a real hotel alternative. Serviced apartments are better value, not because the service levels are lower, but because guests are not paying for all the hotel services they rarely use; room service, mini bars, concierge and lets not forget tipping! Holiday apartments, like at Think Apartments (http://www.think-apartments.com), give guests space, freedom and independence that is not normally found in a traditional hotel.
In a holiday apartment, there’s freedom to come and go; there’s no need to rush to breakfast, no need to panic about picky eaters or worry about sticking to a diet. In a Think Apartment, you can use the fully fitted and equipped kitchen to please even the most discerning of palate; but if this doesn’t suit, then you can always order a takeaway. And when night comes, the parents can relax in the lounge whilst the children are safely in bed, unlike in a hotel where families can often be separated.
A serviced apartment offers more
There is still more to a Think serviced apartment in London. Great locations ensure that you are never far from the sights and sounds that make London one of the world’s great cities. Tower Bridge, St Pauls, the City, Borough Market, O2 and the Southbank are all on the doorstep of Think Apartments’ SE1 locations. Whilst the West End, Portabello, Notting Hill and, of course, the exhibition centres at Earl’s Court and Olympia are just moments away from Think Earl's Court. And with complimentary WiFi and gym and pool facilities opening in 2011, you can really enjoy your time in London.
