Robertson Homes was founded in 1945 by two brothers upon their return from World War II. Seventy years later, the flourishing company pursues expansion in Southeast Michigan and beyond.

"Robertson Homes is not a “box” builder, we are a dream home builder and have had the privilege of doing so in Southeast Michigan for 70 years," said Marketing Director, Michelle Byron.

Now celebrating its 70th anniversary, Robertson Homes continues to be a prominent builder of condominium and single-family home communities throughout Southeast Michigan.

Since 1945, Robertson Homes have developed more than 50 communities while receiving numerous awards along the way. They recently sold out Kilmer Place in Troy in 8 months and Charneth Fen in Novi in less than 12. Robertson Homes opened five new communities in 2014 and will open another six in 2015, two in Royal Oak and Milford, and one each in Lyon Township and Lake Orion.

"Robertson Homes is not a “box” builder, we are a dream home builder and have had the privilege of doing so in Southeast Michigan for 70 years," said Marketing Director, Michelle Byron. "We have the resources of a national builder, a professionally run organization that is financially stable, efficient and organized, but we are also local specific, providing our customers with a team that knows their needs."

At the conclusion of World War II, brothers Paul and Covert Robertson came home to Michigan and established a building company to build small, affordable homes for fellow returning veterans in Berkley and Royal Oak. Next they built in Bloomfield Hills and Troy, and before long Robertson Homes was the most popular builder of new construction in Southeast Michigan.

Paul C. Robertson, Jr., named the president of the company in 1972, constructed the first condominium neighborhood in Southeast Michigan. This new "lifestyle" approach of a clubhouse, pool, and tennis courts led to still more developments throughout the area, including golf course communities.

Through the years, Robertson Homes frequently has been selected by various municipalities for special development projects, and more recently by several local school districts to repurpose closed land.
