It made absolute sense to marry the two.

nikkoSHOPS.com, an online retailer of home furniture and décor products located in Miami, FL launched its second online storefront today.

Part of a larger strategy to provide targeted shopping experiences to internet shoppers with unique online furniture stores, nikkoSHOPS launched PadStyle Shop, an online storefront focusing on modern furniture and contemporary home furnishings.

"There are already several online niche furniture retailers in the market," said Nuno Andrade, cofounder of nikkoSHOPS. "We're just trying to take our unique customer-centric focus and applying it to an existing business model."

Located at Shop.PadStyle.com, the store is a companion site to the popular PadStyle blog, a premier interior design and furniture blog founded in 2006 and acquired by nikkoSHOPS a year later. According to Andrade, the synergy between the blog and the store was too great to pass up.

"The blog has nearly 800 dedicated readers and thousands of monthly visitors interested in interior design and modern furniture," said Andrade. "It made absolute sense to marry the two."

This is the most recent of three furniture stores that the company has launched, although only two are currently active. Founded as Prime Furniture Source, the company rebranded their flagship furniture store as nikkoSHOPS in April of 2009.

"This is just the beginning of a very cautious and responsible expansion into new niches," said Andrade. "We want to make sure we do it right."
