UK Home Insurance for Garden Goods
Swinton is advising home owners to check that their home insurance policy covers for garden furniture adequately.
Manchester (PRWeb UK/PRWEB ) April 16, 2009 -- Research by Swinton, the UK's leading high street home insurance retailer, found that gardens often contain up to £1,000 worth of furniture and ornaments. A recent survey of 1,500 Swinton UK customers found that 26% claimed that their gardens were not properly secure.
Swinton found the most common expensive garden items to be:
1. Patio furniture
2. Sun-loungers
3. BBQ
4. Lawnmower
5. Ornaments
Steve Chelton, Insurer Development Manager for Swinton home insurance, said: "Now that the sunny weather has arrived, people are getting garden furniture out of storage. Often these can be quite expensive and people frequently neglect the importance of garden security."
Chelton continued: "We'd advise anyone with expensive garden items to improve security by fitting locks to gates and also make sure that they have adequate home insurance cover."
