It was time to create a channel that would allow us to effectively communicate updates to users and get feedback in an expedient manner.
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) July 21, 2010
Sharperoo, a meeting place for homeowners and contractors, today announced the launch of its official blog, which will serve as a forum for a variety of topics including new features released on Sharperoo.com, ongoing coverage and analysis of the contracting industry, and best practices for using Sharperoo. The intended audience for the blog includes member homeowners and contractors, as well as those generally interested in the contracting industry in the United States.
"We are at a point where we are launching new feature enhancements every other week," said Brad Stephenson, a spokesman for the company. "It was time to create a channel that would allow us to effectively communicate updates to users and get feedback in an expedient manner. At the same time, we felt that a blog would also be a great forum to share insights from our data, which is the largest repository of information on contractors throughout the United States."
The Sharperoo corporate blog is part of an ongoing effort from the company to facilitate trust and engagement between homeowners and contractors. It comes on the heels of a recent announcement that the company had selected the community-oriented content management system Drupal, to support many of the social features that were being engineered on the site.
With over 1 million profiles of contractors, Sharperoo is the leading source of contractor reviews in the United States. Homeowners who visit Sharperoo have free and open access to public data on contractors, community-driven reviews and information that the contractors themselves have provided. For contractors, Sharperoo provides a quick and easy way to create and grow a Web presence. Through the freely available tools on Sharperoo, contractors can easily create and share information about their businesses and work they’ve done. Started in August 2009, Sharperoo was incorporated in the state of Arizona, January, 2010 after an initial round of seed funding.
