As the economy begins to improve, it is especially important to recognize that many families looking to sell their home or relocate into Eagle Valley are also looking to save wherever they can. Doug Seabury and Scott Schlosser, founders of Eagle Valley Realty, are working hard to promote the area by raising awareness about the importance of supporting local businesses to ensure that the community is able to weather the tough economy well.

It is always important to patronize and support local organizations that might otherwise not be able to withstand the economic conditions--especially during this recovery period. Eagle Valley Realty is taking this concept very seriously by partnering with other business in the Valley, which encompasses four towns and multiple neighborhoods.

According to Schlosser, "Doug and I continue to participate in local community organizations that are working hard to promote the Eagle Valley…we are both very excited about the opportunities that families moving to the valley will have in the future." In their quest to do this, the duo has joined many organizations close to their hearts--organizations that define the eco-friendly, family oriented character of the Valley.

Seabury is on the board of the One Eagle Merchants Association, an organization committed to community building events. Each May, One Eagle Merchants puts together activities to benefit Eagle Valley residents. This year the line-up included a fashion show in support of the Literacy Project, the GET OUT! Outdoor Expo designed to get families outside fly-fishing, hiking, riding and doing other activities, and they even partnered with the Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability for a tree-planting event that was dubbed, Party for the Planet. Seabury is an active member of the Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability.

Schlosser is a board member of both the Eagle Valley Nordic Council and the Hardscrabble Trails Coalition. These organizations are committed to offering quality recreational opportunities to the residents of Eagle Valley. They were each formed within the last 2 years to promote Nordic Skiing and Mountain biking, two activities that are near and dear to Scott Schlosser's heart. These activities are also vital to the community in terms of raising its profile as a destination attractive to future residents and to visitors looking for wintertime fun, which also provides local businesses with seasonal revenue.

Seabury and Schlosser hope that their participation in these local organizations will advance the economic and real estate viability of the Eagle Valley Community for families looking to settle down in the area. As a local business themselves, their commitment to the community is twofold, but ultimately it derives from the sense of community they share with other local businesses and residents, as well as from the multiple pleasures associated with all that Eagle valley has to offer those who live there.

As realty professionals, they understand that the character of a community enhances its appeal; when people love where they live, it shows. It is important for business residents to do their part to keep a community alive and economically viable. For Seabury and Schlosser, it's easy because they have fallen in love with the area themselves.
