While reports have remained consistent that recession is receding, the proof has been in the automobile and RV industries. January showed an increase in sales over 2009 and since then, the numbers have steadily continued to grow. Year to date sales for Honda Division are 532,792 compared to 2009’s sales of 479,696 units, according to HondaNews.com

The most popular models that showed the largest increase in sales were the Honda Accord, Civic and CR-V. The Honda Accord, known for its ease of use and superior safety features has long been a favorite in the American Market. June saw an increase over 2009 of more than 3,000 units sold, bringing the monthly total to 26,792.

The Honda Civic was a star in sales with 26,474 units moved, an increase of 5,520 over last July. Year to date sales reached 133,601, with an increase of over 15,000 units. The Civic has earned a green reputation with great fuel economy.

The CR-V also boasted impressive sales with over 16,000 units sold. The highly anticipated release of the 2011 CR-Z may have numbers jumping in August when it’s released.

“We are cautiously optimistic,” says Ron Henson, President of the Utah Honda Dealers Association. “We believe the quality, safety features and craftsmanship of the Honda brand speak for themselves. Americans appear to be looking for reliability, convenience and environmental awareness. Honda embodies all of those qualities.
