The Utah Honda Dealers Association announces the much-anticipated 2011 Honda Odyssey is here. The 2011 Honda Odyssey features a lightning bolt design, with a low-slung modern profile. This is the crossover mini-van. For men who aren’t crazy about driving a ‘family mini-van,’ the Odyssey is styled to look more aggressive, more athletic and more masculine than most mini-vans.
The EX-L comes with a standard power tailgate, making it easy to operate. Power sliding doors are an additional convenience. The blend of stylized functionality continues inside. For a start, the driver’s seat 10-way power adjustment includes power lumbar support. Voice commands operate the soundtrack ‘Song By Voice’ ® system. The Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System is standard on the Odyssey. EX-L models and above feature a beverage cool box for food and drinks. The multi-view rear camera helps navigate tough reversing and parking situations.
The 2011 Odyssey has an improved 3.5 liter, 24 valve, SOHC i-VTEC-V-6 engine with 248 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. The fuel economy is a plus for every driver and is only enhanced with the new 6-speed automatic transmission on touring models. Safety features are a key component as with all Honda vehicles.
According to the CarConnection.com “The Odyssey is absolutely loaded with thoughtful touches. Three rows of seating are now even better for six adults, thanks to a new second-row configuration that allows the outboard seats to actually tilt and slide outward—changing the width of the second row depending on whether there are two adults, three, or a combination of child seats there (there are now five sets of LATCH connectors, for child seats). The third row gains an inch of legroom and in some trims an armrest, while its folding mechanism gets even better.”
“The Odyssey is the mini-van for those who have always loved mini-vans and for those who never wanted to drive a mini-van,” says Ron Henson, President of the Utah Honda Dealers Association. “This is a powerful, intuitive vehicle that offers space and safety, and it’s fun to drive.”
