Outdoors Event in Marshall, VA Includes Free Food and Skills Stations

Hope For The Warriors® recognizes the therapeutic benefits of outdoor sports and activities for our service members and veterans.

Hope For The Warriors® and the National Wild Turkey Federation® (NWTF) will host a Military Family Day event on Saturday, June 22, 2013. The day begins at 9:00 a.m. at Learning Tree Farms in Marshall, Virginia. The Military Family Day is open to all active duty service members, veterans and their families. Outdoors skills stations and free food will be available for all who attend this daylong event. All attendees will also receive a one-year free membership to NWTF.

“Hope For The Warriors® recognizes the therapeutic benefits of outdoor sports and activities for our service members and veterans,” Robin Kelleher, Hope For The Warriors® president said. “We are excited to partner with NWTF to bring this family event to Northern Virginia.”

Hope For The Warriors® is a national nonprofit organization that assists post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty. The day is part of their Outdoor Adventures Program.

“We’re thrilled to help our veterans by partnering with Hope For The Warriors®,” said George C. Thornton, NWTF CEO. “We can never do enough to fully honor them for their service to our country, but this is one way we can show our appreciation to the veterans of our Armed Services. By partnering with Hope For the Warriors®, we will increase our ability to help veterans enjoy the outdoors through our Wheelin’ Sportsmen NWTF.”

The NWTF is the leader in upland wildlife habitat conservation in North America. A nonprofit organization founded in 1973, the NWTF and its volunteers work closely with state, federal and provincial wildlife agencies and other partners to conserve the wild turkey and other upland wildlife and to preserve our hunting heritage.
