Sailing provides me a freedom that is hard to find when you are disabled. By sailing, I can compete with able-bodied people.

Hope For The Warriors® (http://www.hopeforthewarriors.org) and BAADS (Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors) will host wounded service members and veterans for their next sailing clinic and seminar Wednesday, April 24 – Friday, April 26 at Pier 40, South Beach Harbor, in San Francisco. Hope For The Warriors® is a national nonprofit organization that assists combat wounded service members, their families, and families of the fallen.
The clinic will introduce wounded service members to the fun and exciting sport of sailing. Conventional sailboats as well as adaptive sailing equipment will be available, and activities will be chosen based on the nature of injury of each veteran to insure the comfort and safety of all participants. Other activities, such as hiking, kayaking, beach sports, and a baseball game will also be available. On Friday, April 26, participants will have the opportunity to crew in an official sailboat race.
