In his new role Dave will drive the existing channel program to ensure MXSweep's partners continue to receive best-in-class levels of technical support from MXSweep.

MXSweep (http://www.mxsweep.com), the leading provider of enterprise level spam and virus filtering solutions for business email users, has appointed Dave Lovatt as Channel Sales Manager. Dave will be responsible for strengthening MXSweep's relationship with its existing channel partners internationally, helping them take advantage of the increasing global demand for MXSweep's managed email protection service in the wake of a year in which worldwide spam has almost tripled in volume.

The announcement was made at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference at the Colorado Convention Centre in Denver, where MXSweep is this week meeting with Distributors and Resellers from across the globe looking to provide SaaS based security services to their clients.

MXSweep's CEO, Declan O'Connor, said, "We were taken aback by the unprecedented competition for the role of Channel Sales Manager, but in the end Dave Lovatt's extensive experience in managing channel partner relationships in our target markets made him the obvious choice, and we are delighted to welcome him to the MXSweep team. Dave comes to us from the Eclipse Group Solutions Ltd., the highly respected UK based IT outsourcing specialists. He joins MXSweep at an exciting time. The managed security niche in the software-as-a-service sector is set to explode. You only have to look at the recent Google acquisition of Postini, or SurfControl's acquisition of BlackSpider to see that global appetite for managed services has reached a critical inflexion point. Now more than ever there is a need for vendor neutral email filtering services. Email is mission critical so these latest acquisitions are good new for MXSweep because let's face it, what CIO is going to expose themselves to the risk of data-miners from search engine based conglomerates trawling through their corporate email archives? These businesses quite rightly demand privacy and independence ... MXSweep offers both."

Speaking of his new role in Denver today, from the MXSweep stand at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, Dave Lovatt said, "The MXSweep team are clearly passionate about delivering real service and that's what attracted me to the venture. Unsolicited Business Email has reached epidemic levels but their latest MXPurifier service proves that it is possible to eradicate it completely at source. My first priority will be to focus on communicating MXSweep's strong value proposition to our channel partners. MXSweep's managed service creates new recurring revenue streams for our partners whose customers are disenchanted with the poor performance of on-premise anti-spam solutions. These customers are no simply longer prepared to tolerate the high total cost of ownership (TCO) and ongoing maintenance/upgrade costs of on-premise appliances. In the security market we are seeing a landslide shift towards Software-as-a-Service and on-demand Managed Services. MXSweep's affordable subscription based business model is perfectly poised to take advantage of that market sentiment. However, being pay-as-you-go based is really just the icing on the cake, the real attraction is the industrial grade performance of MXPurifier."

Danny Jenkins, the company's co-founder and CTO said, "Dave's primary focus will be to implement programs and strategies that yield strong results for both distribution partners and resellers alike. In his new role Dave will drive the existing channel program to ensure MXSweep's partners continue to receive best-in-class levels of technical support from MXSweep."

To support MXSweep's business growth, Dave will also focus on identifying new channel partners to join the MXSweep Reseller Program. Dave Lovatt brings a wealth of knowledge from the IT Security sector. He has worked in Channel IT sales at senior level for nearly 10 years, ranging from IT Sales Management assignments for Distribution Channels to providing strategic direction to Systems Integrators. Dave's experience includes Thin Client Computing, Managed Services, and Security, both on a technical and business level.

"MXSweep is a 100 per cent channel focused company experiencing significant growth which makes it an opportune time to join the team," said Dave. "I am looking forward to working with MXSweep's partners and helping them identify new recurring revenue opportunities that offer attractive margins. I'm particularly keen to hear from channel partners with expertise in messaging solutions, IT security and managed services."
