After steering the Cincinnati based franchisor through the tough years in the economy I decided the timing was now right to buy House Doctors.

House Doctors handyman franchise numbers are on the rise as a result of a growing trend in business ownership. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor U.S. Report recently released from Babson College and Baruch College, entrepreneurship in the U.S. is at the highest level since 1999. House Doctors President, Jim Hunter, says, “Business start-ups are on the rise. With the summer months upon us and a strengthened economy, many people are deciding to take control of their own future through business ownership. As a National franchise we already see the growing entrepreneurship trend in action. Inquiries for our franchise have increased by 30%, and we are experiencing double digit growth on number of prospective franchisee discovery days in 2013 as opposed to this time last year. This increased interest has us on target to add 6 new franchisees to our system over the next couple of months."

House Doctors franchisees are managers and do not swing a hammer but build a team of insured, bonded and uniformed handymen who operate in the growing “do it for me” market. Franchisees help customers around the house with everything from fixing leaky faucets to complete bathroom remodeling.

Hunter himself is a part of this growing entrepreneur trend, having bought the franchisor, House Doctors just last year. An experienced entrepreneur, he has now owned companies in three different countries. “After steering the Cincinnati based franchisor through the tough years in the economy as President and CEO, I decided the timing was now right to buy House Doctors. With the aging housing stock and population, there is a growing need for a network of handymen and remodeling professionals to maintain, repair and improve properties. Our goal over the next few years is to build a network of 300 – 400 franchises across the US.”, says Jim.
