Independent Video Podcast Jumps onto Video On Demand Service

The independently produced video podcast, "How-To with Madeline Merced," joins forces with TasteTV's website and Video On Demand network.

Madison, WI (PRWEB) September 28, 2006 -- Real Dream Productions, publishers of the popular video podcast, "How-To with Madeline Merced," hosted at HowToGirl.com, announced today that they will be joining TasteTV as regular contributors to the next generation food, wine and lifestyle network, including on the TasteTV.com website, as well as TasteTV's Northern California-based Video On Demand network. The first programs will air on TasteTV at the beginning of October. Says TasteTV founder A.K. Crump, "We are very pleased to have such a creative, informative and entertaining culinary program added to the TasteTV lineup."

The "How-To" video podcast is a five to ten minute weekly podcast that explores new and exciting trends in fashion, diet, fitness, cooking, entertaining, and more. Aimed at young women in high school through college, "How-To" spends four weeks on each theme, with a different topic of the theme presented weekly. Popular topics have included Prom and Formal Make-Up, How To Host a Movie Night, and How To Make a Chocolate-Raspberry Smoothie.

"So far, 'How-To's' food episodes have been about easy-to-prepare recipes that work great for high schoolers and in college dorm kitchens," said Madeline Merced, the show's creator and co-producer. "I am excited about the partnership between 'How To' and TasteTV because our show is about teaching young people that doing it yourself is fulfilling and less expensive, and TasteTV, with it's Internet presence and Video On Demand channels offers us a unique platform to reach a broader audience."

Eric Wyeth, director and co-producer of the "How-To" podcast, took the opportunity to announce that the duo would be launching a new podcast series, "Taste of How To," meant to compliment their new relationship with TasteTV.com. "While the overall goal is to continue to keep things simple," Eric said, "Madeline and I also want to explore some more complex themes, such as regional cuisines, gourmet recipes, coverage of food festivals, farmer's markets and high end restaurants. 'Taste of How-To' will allow us to do that, by mixing original episodes created just for TasteTV with re-edited versions of our current offerings."

About "How-To"
Though the podcast was recently begun in March of 2006, "How-To with Madeline Merced" is already a finalist for a prestigious Podcast Peer Award; has been featured on the front page of the wildly popular iTunes podcast directory; was featured twice in one month on the Canadian G4 TechTV network's "Torrent," as a Best of the Web; ranks consistently among the Top Ten Video Podcasts at PodcastAlley.com; and since July has been ranked in the Top 25 of it's category in the iTunes Podcast Directory. "How-To" counts among it's audience fans on six continents and in dozens of countries around the world. The Podcast is the collaboration of Madison, Wisconsin, residents Madeline Merced and Eric Wyeth.
