The reseller agreement between CosmoCom and HP makes sense

CosmoCom announced today a global reseller agreement with HP that will provide enterprises and telecom service providers with a unified contact center and media platform. The integrated solution can help companies reduce cost and time-to-market as their contact centers handle customer inquiries through live operations and automated voice response systems.

Under the agreement, HP will become a global reseller of CosmoCom's CosmoCall Universe™ (CCU), an all-Internet Protocol (IP) contact center platform. The agreement will enable HP's direct sales force and its channel partners to resell CCU worldwide integrated with the HP OpenCall Media Platform (HP OCMP).

The integrated offering brings together CosmoCom's leadership in next-generation contact centers with HP's highly successful voice and video services platform, its integration services organization, and its worldwide support capability. Customers that use the HP OpenCall Media Platform with CCU will be able to develop contact centers more rapidly and deploy them more securely.

CosmoCall Universe provides the live communication side of the platform, with its unified contact center suite that includes inbound and outbound ACD (Automatic Call Distribution), CTI (Computer Telephony Integration), and a full complement of reporting and administrative tools. It is a high-capacity, high-availability, multi-tenant platform that supports multi-channel contacts via telephone, videophone, live internet, and e-mail.

The HP OpenCall Media Platform is an advanced, IP-based media server that integrates easily with existing network architectures, allowing service providers to rapidly capitalize on a variety of business opportunities such as large-scale interactive voice response (IVR) applications, unified communications, contact centers and entertainment services. Additionally, the HP OpenCall Media Platform is designed to protect the value of service providers' investments with the media resource function (MRF) and video capability that enable it to support IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-based services.
