John Tierney recently took the morally indefensible action of voting against funding our troops in Afghanistan. This political stunt to curry favor from the radical elements within the Democrat Party is unacceptable while our troops are in harm's way.
Danvers, MA (PRWEB) September 9, 2010
Bill Hudak, http://www.hudakforcongress.com, candidate for U.S. Congress in the Massachusetts 6th Congressional District, today announced that he has received the endorsement of several distinguished local veterans, including retired Navy captain and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Tom Hudner. Hudak also blasted Congressman John Tierney’s recent vote to cut off funding for troops fighting in Afghanistan as “morally indefensible.”
“During the Korean War, I happened to be in position where I could help a fallen comrade. I did what any one of us would have done. It was my duty,” stated Thomas J. Hudner, Jr., one of only 87 living Congressional Medal of Honor recipients.
“Today, Bill Hudak is fighting for me,” said Hudner. “I judge him as a man of integrity, and I have a sincere belief that he can make a difference if elected to the Congress. I believe, as our Congressman, he will stand solidly with our military men and women, and their families. He will support their needs in combat situations as well as in the other numerous roles they are called upon to play. Bill will go the extra mile for our wounded veterans, and for the families that have lost a loved one in the service of his or her country.” Hudner is a former commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services.
Bill Hudak also received the endorsement of the Public Affairs Coalition of Veterans, Police, Firefighters, & Military Families.
“Bill Hudak has our support because he understands the needs and core values of the veterans’ community,” said Robert Fairbairn, Director. “As a member of Congress, I believe that Bill will work tirelessly to ensure that our veterans returning from overseas combat will have the medical and support resources they deserve and will not be forgotten.” Fairbairn is a former national committeeman and state commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. “I am honored to be endorsed by these two American heroes and will pledge as a member of Congress to earn their trust, and the trust of all who serve this country,” said Bill Hudak. “For too long, politicians have used the brave members of our military as pawns in political debates. This is particularly true of my opponent, Congressman John Tierney, who recently took the morally indefensible action of voting against funding our troops in Afghanistan. This was a political stunt, geared to curry favor from the radical elements within the Democrat Party, and is unacceptable while brave Americans are putting their lives in harm’s way for this country.”
