WHAM-O(R), Inc., the originator of innovative outdoor fun, proudly announced today that its iconic Frisbee and Hula Hoop toys were voted "Best Toys of All-Time" in an online poll conducted by The Toy Guy(R), Chris Byrne, during the month of February. The poll, conducted on The Toy Guy's official blog in accordance with Toy Fair 2008 in February, asked America to vote for their all-time favorite toy from a list that included Frisbee, Hula Hoop, Slinky, Barbie, Yo-Yo, Monopoly, Mr. Potato Head and a handful of other classic toys.

This is the play that remains a fundamental part of our culture and creates experiences and memories that last a lifetime.

"The online poll results show the timeless appeal of outdoor fun that has been the defining spirit of all of WHAM-O's toys and sporting goods over the past 60 years," said Chris Guirlinger, vice president of marketing at WHAM-O. "Hula Hoop and the Frisbee are two leaders in WHAM-O's legendary brand family that have become an integral part of the fabric of American society, right alongside baseball and apple pie."

60 years since WHAM-O's inception, and still popular as ever among "kids" of all ages despite the onslaught of electronic toys and video games, WHAM-O's Hula Hoop, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and Frisbee, which turned 50 years-old in 2007, have become household names synonymous with carefree outdoor fun for all ages.

"It's no surprise that these toys would win our poll. No matter how much technology dominates contemporary play, there's still room for classic play," says Chris Byrne aka The Toy Guy. "This is the play that remains a fundamental part of our culture and creates experiences and memories that last a lifetime."

The poll results come as WHAM-O celebrates its 60th Anniversary by paying tribute to its history of creating outdoor fun toys with the launch of a 60th Anniversary Kid Inventor Contest, a 60th Anniversary Commercial Contest, nationwide radio promotions and a Team WHAM-O media tour that will feature expert demonstrations of the Hula Hoop, Frisbee and Hacky Sack.

All of WHAM-O's toys and sporting goods, including the Hula Hoop(R), Slip 'N Slide(R) Mega Shark(TM), Frisbee(R) Pro Classic with U-Flex(TM), SuperBall(R) and Hacky Sack(R) Striker(TM), will be available this spring at retailers nationwide.
