Quirky Cult Comedy Film "Freedom State" Debuts on Hulu.com
The quirky cult feature comedy film "Freedom State," shot in Oregon and SW Washington is now among fewer than 250 feature films available for streaming on the hugely popular web site HULU.com. This high-concept comedy centers on the exploits of eight mental hospital patients who awaken to discover that they've just slept through the apocalypse. Determined to find the edge of the world, the former residents of Lost Acres load into a short, yellow bus and embark upon a cross-country journey to rescue potential survivors and plant the seeds for a new society, fashioned to their liking.
Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) April 12, 2009 -- The "quirky cult feature comedy film Freedom State," shot in Oregon and SW Washington is now among fewer than 250 feature films available for streaming on the hugely popular web site HULU.com.
This high-concept comedy centers on the exploits of eight mental hospital patients who awaken to discover that they've just slept through the apocalypse. The film received high praise from Cinequest's screening committee:

Freedom State is distributed to Hulu via indieflix. Other Hulu distributors include Paramount, Fox, Universal, B-Side, Firstlook and and Lionsgate.
ComScore VideoMetrix reported that Hulu gained 10 million viewers in February, becoming the 4th most popular video site in the U.S., with an audience of 34.7 million people who watched 332.5 million video streams.
Freedom State screened at numerous film festivals, becoming a cult favorite before being distributed by indieflix. The film was produced by Aaron Kirk Douglas, co-producer of the feature documentary Monster Camp and associate producer of the feature documentary Veer.
