Manhattan, NY (PRWEB) December 23, 2012
BLB released their statement recognizing the hard work HSUS has put in following Sandy as well as the To The Rescue gala held this week after being rescheduled from the original November date because of the storm.
The gala was attended by many dog loving socialites and celebrities, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg's daughter Georgina Bloomberg, who was part of the honorary committee. After the main event at Cipriani 42nd Street many of the attendees joined the honorary committee for the after party at SL nightclub.
BLB is happy to see the success of the gala, especially coming on the heels of such a huge effort by the humane society because of the number of stranded and abandoned animals following Sandy. The major event saw many of the volunteers recognized for their efforts in the wake of Sandy and was an excellent way for the society to raise awareness and funds.
HSUS has been protecting animals around the country since 1954 and rescues and cares for tens of thousands of animals every year. The gala, held in the heart of Manhattan, was a great success this year and the after party, which took place in the New York nightlife hotspot, the Meatpacking District, was no less so. SL nightclub is co-owned by Mark Birnbaum and is a regular party spot for many celebrities.
After being postponed for more than a month the To The Rescue gala was held this past week. Volunteers, some awarded with the Humane Advocate Award, mingled with socialites and celebrities at the annual New York event. The event was once again a success, selling out and drawing many big names to help raise funds and awareness for the Humane Society of the United States of America.
