After a recent visit to the Northeast, we saw firsthand how communities, businesses, and families were affected by the storm and are still greatly feeling the impact.
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) January 30, 2013
In an effort to spread awareness and help those in the Northeast rebuild their lives from Hurricane Sandy, Azfasst will donate 20% of sales from February 1-13 to the recovery. The company has partnered with the Notre Dame Academy of Staten Island that is close to the relief effort and will distribute the money to the NDA families and communities that need it the most.
“After a recent visit to the Northeast, we saw firsthand how communities, businesses, and families were affected by the storm and are still greatly feeling the impact,” said Dr. Anne Riordan, developer of the Azfasst Skin Care line. “The is an organization that is close to our family, so it seemed fitting to reach out to them as their facility and community was affected by the storm. Our customers are really caring people and we are hoping they will be supportive of this cause.”
As the largest Atlantic hurricane on record, Hurricane Sandy devastated thousands and affected 24 states. Though the storm hit almost four months ago, the aftermath will be felt for many years to come. Azfasst recognizes that there is still a call for more support and needed aid in the Northeast. Notre Dame Academy has been at the forefront of the relief effort. The school collected and distributed many foods and materials, sponsored several fundraisers, worked at food sorting sites, helped at actual homes, gave Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas gifts, and organized two out-of-state teams to restore the homes of two families – these were just some of the ways that NDA has helped the community.
“Students, faculty, staff, alumnae and the whole NDA community pulled together and are still working to help families recover what was lost,” said Jackie DeLucia, director of development for the academy. “With the help of companies like Azfasst that are still committed to the hurricane relief effort, we hope that the rest of the country will not forget that there is much work to be done here to rebuild.”
