Post-recession, automobile consumers and connoisseurs alike are turning to cars with better gas mileage and better performance at an affordable price. Honda delivers.

While gasoline prices have remained fairly low this summer, consumers are still wary about the expense of fuel and possible spikes in the future. This consideration effects their buying decisions as has been seen in the move away from SUVs. Some consumers have shied away from hybrids as not being worth the cost for the benefits they provide. The Utah Honda Dealers Association is here to set the record straight with their top three reasons to buy a hybrid.
1. CR-Z. The Honda CR-Z is the newest hybrid model due out this fall. The three-mode driving system allows the driver to choose from Normal (or default) mode, econ for the best gas mileage and sport for increased performance. A computer system adjusts speed and power according to which mode the car is in.
2. Honda Insight. The Honda insight was one of the first hybrids available in the US. The new design comes with ECO ASSIST™, which is a program that teaches drivers how to travel in the most fuel-efficient manner. The system shows how current driving affects gas mileage and offers suggestions as to how to drive more ecologically. The ECON button puts the car in fuel-efficient mode for the driver.
3. Civic Hybrid. The Civic Hybrid, redesigned in 2005, helps drivers attain better fuel economy through the Integrated Motor Assist system which uses low-rpm, high-rpm and cylinder idle mode for different driving conditions. The Civic Hybrid gets an estimated 45-mpg on the highway.
“Honda has always been on the cutting edge of hybrid technology and fuel efficiency,” says Ron Henson, President of the Utah Honda Dealers Association. “Post-recession, automobile consumers and connoisseurs alike are turning to cars with better gas mileage and better performance at an affordable price. Honda delivers.”
