About Hyde
Hyde School was founded 44 years ago on the premise that attitude, effort, and the development of character are key to helping students reach their fullest potential. Between 96 and 98 percent of Hyde School graduates attend four-year colleges.
Since its founding in 1966, Hyde School has grown to include boarding campuses in Bath, Maine and Woodstock, Connecticut, and public schools in Washington DC and Bronx, New York.
We believe that living a sustained life and pursuing your fullest potential requires exploring the unknown, taking some learning risks, and stopping to reflect on what you learned about yourself along the way.
It is natural to seek those areas of learning with which one is most comfortable—sometimes that is art; sometimes it is something else; but rarely is it everything. At Hyde, we believe that taking learning risks, stretching beyond what is most comfortable, and applying principles in everything we do teaches us the most about ourselves and places us on a path toward the potential we were meant to reach.
We at Hyde have nearly 45 years of experience preparing students for college and life beyond, and we see firsthand how developing positive habits and learning attitudes leads to greater academic and lifelong success.
