Delivering on its promise to help moms and dads raise happy, healthy kids, Parents Magazine has just launched a unique new iPhone application. The Parents iPlay 'n Learn features fun quizzes, tracing programs, and flash cards for babies, toddlers, and kids. Each of the activities of the interactive iPhone App keeps preschool children laughing while learning about letters, numbers, colors and shapes. Audio messages and exciting animations such as exploding fireworks, chugging trains, and skyward-bound rocket ships keep kids engaged and deliver positive reinforcement.
"We put the knowledge of child development experts behind our planning for the application, which is designed to keep children entertained and to help stimulate learning for children through a range of ages," says Janell Pittman, General Manager of Parents.com. "My own 3-year-old has a blast with the quizzes, and hopes to be rewarded with the rocket taking off. As I've witnessed him interacting with it, I can assure parents they will value the application as they're with their young children waiting in line, on a long drive, or just hanging around the house."
The iPlay 'n Learn application is available for download on the iPhone or iPod Touch starting Thursday, Oct. 1, for a limited-time introductory price of $0.99. Customers can purchase it from the iTunes store at http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=331814911&mt=8
The application, which was developed by Resolute Digital, is specifically broken into three levels: Flash cards introduce letters, shapes, and colors to young children; fun quizzes make learning into a game of identifying specific letters, shapes and colors; tracing encourages children to use their finger to draw letters and numbers; and all letter activities use phonics and word association in addition to just the letter name.
"For any parent of a child under 5 years old, this is a must-buy," notes iPhoneApplicationList.com reviewer Den. To view the entire review, visit: http://iphoneapplicationlist.com/2009/09/30/iplayn-learn/
