iUniverse is featuring former iUniverse author Lisa Genova in its December author podcast at iUniverse.com.
Bloomington, IN (PRWEB) December 10, 2008 -- iUniverse, the leading book marketing, editorial services, and supported self publishing company, is featuring former iUniverse author Lisa Genova, in its December author podcast at iuniverse.com.
A columnist for the National Alzheimer's Association, Genova is an advocate for Alzheimer's awareness. She self published Still Alice, a novel which examines the effects of Alzheimer's from the patient's perspective, after her 85-year old grandmother was diagnosed with the disease.
Genova said during the podcast that she decided to publish a book with iUniverse after more than a year of rejection letters from traditional publishers. Ten months after self publishing her book, the rights to Still Alice were acquired for "six figures" by Simon & Schuster. With the first release of the book planned for early next month, Genova noted she is experiencing a lot of big changes in her life.
"I think the biggest change is about to come. The book comes out January 6. The first print run has been announced as being 200,000 copies in the U.S. and is sold to, I think, 13 other countries so far. So I think the biggest change is, I can't even comprehend what's about to happen."
