The Interactive Advertising Bureau Singapore (IAB), the leading voice of the interactive advertising industry, has elected its Leadership Council and Executive Officers. It is also calling for participation from companies interested in joining as association members for the coming year.
The IAB is pleased to announce the election of its Leadership Council, which will represent the general membership. Council members are:

The IAB leadership represents an extremely qualified group of individuals that will bring forward and speak to the critical issues facing the industry over the coming year. This group includes well-known professionals from major companies in the digital advertising industry. The participation of this group of well connected, knowledgeable and proactive individuals speaks volumes about the authority and energy that the IAB is bringing to the digital advertising industry at this time.
Newly appointed IAB chair, Ken Mandel said "I'm honoured to be elected Chairman and look forward to representing IAB members over the next year. We have established a strong and inclusive industry association that will advance digital advertising in Singapore and throughout the region. The IAB is committed to providing tremendous value to its members, and it will work towards achieving the shared vision of an interactive industry that delivers 20% of all marketing expenditure by 2020. Through participation in IAB working committees, all association members can contribute to efforts that build awareness, understanding and trust in digital as an effective medium for marketers. "
The IAB seeks to make major steps forward to help all sectors of the marketing industry use the digital medium effectively. It has identified a number of key objectives:
- Promote key messages that support the growth of interactive advertising investment
- Generate and disseminate research and thought leadership that effectively supports interactive advertising decision making
- Share best practices and improve efficiency of the industry through education and training
- Provide representation for members at events and forums
- Establish and promote the widespread acceptance of measurement guidelines and creative standards
- Promote consultation and cooperation within the digital advertising industry
- Act as a representative voice for the digital advertising industry
The IAB wishes to express its appreciation to all the companies that have been actively engaged in the process of creating a strong and representative industry association. It also thanks the Media Development Authority of Singapore for its role in supporting the interactive industry through a variety of means. On behalf of its members, the IAB looks forward to continuing dialogue and cooperation with the MDA to ensure the future development of digital advertising.

Ken Mandel is an advertising industry veteran with an expertise in digital. During his 15-year career, which goes back to the dawn of the digital era, Ken has been responsible for overseeing integrated offerings at companies including Bates, 141 Worldwide and Ogilvy & Mather (OgilvyOne and Neo@Ogilvy) and XM in Asia Pacific. He has led companies into the digital space and has been a key leader in broadening the use of digital and online media, content and emerging technologies in Asia. Ken's role in the online and mobile industry has been a key reason for companies taking the leap and leveraging the digital marketing opportunity.
Specific to the mobile industry, Ken co-founded the Ogilvy Digital Lab in Singapore. This lab helped produce state-of-the-art mobile solutions for American Express and Diageo and also led the firm to grow its digital business and win "Digital Agency of the Year" two years in a row. Additionally, Ken was the founding Vice Chairman of the Asia Pacific chapter of the MMA (Mobile Marketing Association) and was instrumental in setting up the organization in the region.
Ken's use of digital for creative ad solutions for clients covers the spectrum, using rich media advertising, behavioural targeting, mobile marketing, broadband content, blogging, podcasting and vlogging and web strategy. Now on the media side and leading the Southeast Asia region for Yahoo!, Ken Mandel is a key industry leader in continuing efforts to bridge the digital confidence gap by delivering the web and mobile platforms and products for consumers and advertisers.
In August 2009, Ken was elected as the chairman of IAB Singapore, an industry association that seeks to promote investment in interactive advertising.
Third Space Asia
Nick offers considerable cross media experience to the IAB. His early career covers magazines with the launch of BBC Top Gear Magazine, Maxim Magazine and Stuff Magazine. He spent time with the Daily Telegraph, before moving to CBS Outdoor in the UK as Head of Sales. He was Sales and Marketing Manager for the initial launch of the London Underground's digital projection medium.
As a senior executive, Nick was Head of Sales for Yahoo! UK & Ireland, and Vice President International for CBS Outdoor in China. More recently Nick has continued to build his experience across Southeast Asia as COO at Aktiv Digital in Singapore.
In August 2009, Nick was elected as Secretary of IAB Singapore.

Raymond Teoh is the Assistant Vice President of the Interactive Business Unit in Singapore Press Holdings Ltd, heading a team that handles interactive services and new product development in the interactive space. A veteran in the media industry with over 10 years of experience in online, print and TV advertising, Raymond has successfully launched many internet marketing campaigns and also mobile content initiatives in Singapore.
Raymond graduated from Nanyang Technological University with an Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and worked in the Information Technology Sector for six years before moving into the Interactive Advertising business in1998.
As one of the interactive advertising pioneers in Singapore, he hopes the launch of the IAB in Singapore will set the standards of measurement and educate marketers on the platform - expanding the online share of the advertising pie to the benefit of all industry players.
In August 2009, Raymond was elected as Treasurer of IAB Singapore.
