Independent Association of Businesses (IAB) announced today the committee’s selection of Christopher E. Condeluci, from the law office of Venable, LLP as lead counsel to guide the legal development and implementation of the IAB Health Insurance Exchange.
“One year after passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“PPACA”), we find significant increases in overall health care costs and feel there are more unknowns than knowns about both the Federal and State-based Exchanges created under the new law. As a policy framer of various versions of Federal health care reform legislation – which all contemplated some type of health insurance exchange mechanism – we find Chris to be exceptionally knowledgeable on State insurance laws, as well the new rules set forth under PPACA. We firmly believe that his counsel on policy matters will guide IAB through the launch and future growth of this non-profit private exchange,” stated IAB President, Shane M. Madigan.
The IAB Exchange, announced last month, will feature an innovative easy to use web based platform, state regulated and approved medical and health care products and create an Agent Navigator enrollment system. The exchange will offer small business owners additional options to the mandated state and federal exchanges.
“The IAB Exchange provides a gateway of choice for additional options that fit the needs of tens of millions of small business owners that look to IAB for innovative guidance as healthcare has remained the greatest concern of the small business sector for the past two decades,” Madigan added.
