ibis Hotel Thailand announced 'Dear' - Vorakarn Jaisuban as the winner of its ibis idol 2009 competition in search of a brand ambassador for ibis hotel in Thailand. The 23-year old Chiangmai-born girl was hand-picked by a panel of judges - comprising of ibis and Accor executives, Channel V producers and VJ Woonsen - from a total of 2,400 applicants.

The contest ended in high notes on the 30th July 2009 with a cheerful crowd at Central World Plaza. The event co-organized by Channel V and ibis Hotel was joined by local celebrities and singers such as B.O.Y, Tol - AF, Tui - AF and Taechin to witness the deciding moments of the ibis idol winner.

'Dear' - Vorakarn had consistently impressed with her vivacity and friendliness throughout the competition and at the final event. In front of the judges, she showed what ibis Erawan Thailand was looking for, an ambassador with the following characteristics:

  •     Dynamic (interactive, always on the move, sociable, trendy)
  •     Youthful (fun, playful, pro-active, exploratory, curious, bursting with life and colors)
  •     Smart (intelligent, inquisitive, forward thinking, well informed, loving challenges)
  •     Energetic (action speaks louder than words, adventurous, high momentum, self-expressive, self-driven)

The first ibis idol 2009 will get a one month stint as a superstar VJ Rookie on Channel V, a year of free hotel accommodation, a personal fashion shoot, a dedicated personal portfolio, a holiday in Korea and a monthly salary of 10,000 baht for one year.

The ibis idol 2009 contest, which took place from 10th April, garnered more than 2,400 applicants and numerous public votes from the internet and SMS. Popular contestant 'Mobile', Keerati Laohasiri wins the ibis idol Popular Vote award with the most SMS votes from the public. She walks away with a holiday in Sydney, Australia inclusive of return flights and 2 nights at ibis Sydney for two persons.
