Competition Heats Up as Ibis Idol Semi-Final Line-up is Announced
Fifty most popular contestants, as voted by the public, move to penultimate stage of the competition.
Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) June 19, 2009 -- ibis today announces the contestants that have progressed to semi-final of the ibis idol 2009 competition. Following the closure of public voting on 18 June, the fifty most popular contestants move to the semi-final - their names can be found at "www.ibisidol-thailand.com".
The first task of each semi-final contestant is a series of interviews at ibis Bangkok Sathorn, 19-20 June, where they will be quizzed from the competition's judging panel. The panel is composed of representatives from ibis Thailand and Channel V including:

- Ms. Helene Bertoneche, Director of Marketing - ibis Erawan Thailand
- Mr. Atiporn Upprakorn, Producer - Channel V Thailand

- Ms. Lawan Pookhoot, Business Development Manager - John Robert Powers
- Ms. Porntina Tangsajjavitoon, Director of Communications South East Asia - Accor
Throughout the semi-final activities, the judging panel will scrutinize the contestants to decide the 12 that best represent the ibis brand. Particular attention will paid to those that fulfill the selection criteria and are dynamic, youthful, smart and energetic.
The public will get its chance to learn more about each contestant when they appear live on Channel V on 22 June, from 5pm-7pm. Channel V's ibis idol show will feature extracts from the semi-final interviews in Bangkok as well as live, in-studio interviews and the official announcement of the 12 contestants that will progress to the final.
Following the announcement of the finalists, Channel V will run a daily program focusing on the 12 remaining contestants. The show will air every day from 23rd June to 2 July.
Contestants that reach the final will participate in a number of activities including a style workshop in Bangkok and a boot camp, led by health and fitness experts from True Fitness and personality development gurus from John Robert Powers, at ibis Samui Bophut. The boot camp, which runs from 5-8 July 2009, will put the contestants through their paces in and around the island's picturesque scenery and attractions.
The event to decide the ibis idol competition winner will take place in Central World on 30 July. The final show will give each hopeful one last chance to impress the watching judges and public. To keep the final ticking over in style, the event will feature a number of Channel V's best known VJs with live performances by B.O.Y, Tol - AF, Tui - AF and Taechin.
The competition's overall winner will get a one month stint as a superstar VJ Rookie on Channel V, a year of free hotel accommodation, a personal fashion shoot, a dedicated personal portfolio, a holiday in Korea and a monthly salary of 10,000 baht for one year.
