ICAP Patent Brokerage announces for sale patents which disclose systems and methods for automated identification of fingerprints by performing chemical analysis. This portfolio is available from inventor Theodosios Kountotsis as part of the Internet of Things IP Auction, with a bidding deadline of April 23rd, 2015.

“This is next-generation fingerprint analysis, and an important portfolio for companies involved in the domain of biometric security systems and software,” says Dean Becker, CEO of ICAP Patent Brokerage.

Key Characteristics & Benefits
With priority dates from 2010, the disclosed portfolio describes highly secure, accurate and automated systems and techniques for fingerprint identification and verification in a broad array of biometric applications. Fingerprint images are captured or scanned using an electronic device from an area of interest—e.g, a crime scene, retail store, etc. These scanned images are then transmitted to a remote location where the samples are analyzed by security personnel. In an important embodiment, real-time chemical analysis matching chemical compositions of scanned fingerprint images with prerecorded fingerprints is performed, which provides instantaneous feedback (e.g., via text, image or video). Furthermore, computers are used to determine the probability of matching a fingerprint of the items or individuals with a large number of fingerprints stored in a database to determine an item or person of interest. Overall revenues for the biometrics market are forecasted to hit US$13.8 billion in 2015(1).
