Since the same rules and procedures are used throughout the world, our customers need to understand the rules to be able to use them to their advantage.

ICC Books USA (ICC), the publication division of the International Chamber of Commerce, provides products derived from the writings of ICC commissions, institutions, and individual international experts. Recent changes to international trade laws prompted the release of Incoterms 2010, which is the eighth set of rules released by the organization since 1936. Incoterms are a series of standard three letter trade terms intended to remove uncertainties in international trade rules that may be interpreted differently by other countries.

ICC publications and eBooks are typically directed towards international exporters/importers, bankers, attorneys, corporate executives, customs brokers, and freight forwarders. In addition, colleges, universities, trade institutions, and legal libraries now regularly incorporate ICC products in their curriculums. With the recent release of Incoterms 2010, major wholesalers and bookstore distributors now stock these key ICC publications.

"Our customers are looking to understand or expand their knowledge of international trade law, and a publication on Incoterms or an explanation on a letter of credit is helpful in understanding these shipment and delivery rules,” says Paul Cronin of ICC Books USA. “Since the same rules and procedures are used throughout the world, our customers need to understand the rules to be able to use them to their advantage.”

For customers looking to assess the risk and investment required when conducting international trade, ICC Books USA offers several publications that help customers understand what a letter of credit is. Frequently used to ensure that payment is received, letters of credit also allow the buyer’s bank to ensure that goods have shipped before payment is released. ICC Books USA offers a variety of publications and downloadable eBooks that provide detailed, clear explanations to help explain these international trade standards.
