Boise, ID (Vocus) May 21, 2010

On May 20th, 2010, the Idaho Fish & Game launched a new Idaho Hunter Safety Course Online, which allows all students to study hunter education and firearm safety at home. Students then attend a single instructor-led Hunter Safety Field Day, where they complete a written final exam to obtain their certification. A hunter education certificate is required for anyone born after January 1, 1975 to purchase an Idaho hunting license.

The traditional Idaho hunter safety certification process consists of a 12-15 hour classroom course that is given over several days and/or weekends. The online certification process allows the bulk of learning to occur on the student's personal time, and show up to a single instructor-led session which lasts about 4 or 5 hours.

Ron Fritz, Hunter Education Coordinator for the Idaho Fish & Game Hunting Safety Section is enthusiastic about the new online program. "Our goal is to get more hunters involved in the sport. The internet hunter safety course covers the same material as the classroom course, and all Internet students will arrive at the Field Day with the same knowledge base," Says Fritz, "With this online course, Instructors will be able to focus on teaching specific Idaho hunting regulations and, of course, reinforce the rules of firearm safety. We hope to be able to conduct more Hunter Education Field Days, and certify more students."

The HunterExam online hunter safety course is fully narrated, features over 60 interactive animations, every hunter safety test question contains detailed illustrations. With a focus on teaching all three learning styles and a high degree of interactivity, the online course has even received positive feedback from students who experience learning disabilities.

"We commend the Fish & Game for implementing the online hunter safety course," says Kerry Moher, V.P. Business Development from HunterExam.com, "Using the Internet is completely natural for a large portion of young people. Everyone will end up saving time and money by completing most of the hunter education course work from home."

An industry leader committed to continuing education, HunterExam's hunter safety course is available to anyone as a free study tool. Students who use the online course as part of the Field Day requirement will purchase HunterExam's Field Day Voucher for a one-time $24.95 fee, paid once the online course has been successfully completed.

Idaho is the 25th state to adopt HunterExam's online hunter safety course. Other HunterExam resources include a Treestand Safety Course which meets guidelines set by the Treestand Manufacturer's Association, and three interactive online shooting ranges, powered by HE Tools®.
