Customers of Autotask can now take advantage of a tight integration between Autotask’s web-based business management software and Microsoft’s Active Directory Services using the Identity Syncronizer™ Identity Management Platform. This new IDSync Connector, announced today by InnerApps and Autotask Corporation, dramatically improves an IT solution provider’s ability to provision system access, and privileges for users and resources using Microsoft’s Active Directory as the centralized identity source for user provisioning and maintenance tasks.
The user’s identity information such as name, phone, login credentials and Autotask privileges are stored using Microsoft’s Active Directory within the IDSync™ framework. IDSync™ (http://www.idsync.com) manages the provisioning and synchronization of the data between Autotask’s security mechanisms and the centralized store of user’s identity and provisioning information. Using standard Windows Security groups, an Autotask administrator can quickly provision large quantities of users for a new customer by simply adding the users to a group. Autotask Client Access portal or Taskfire™ access may also be provisioned in the same way and will, in addition, provide password syncronization to streamline the user’s support experience.
FAST TWO-WAY SYNCRONIZATION - AUTOTASK & ACTIVE DIRECTORY
IDsync supports two-way integration with Autotask. This means that, if enabled, any updates that are made within Autotask to a user’s name, address, e-mail, and other contact or configuration information is automatically syncronized back to Active Directory saving the time and effort of having to log into the customer’s environment to make the changes in multiple places. Further, if other IDSync Connectors are utilized (Hosted Exchange, Sharepoint, SQL, Parallels, IBM iSeries, etc.) these user information changes, made within Autotask, are automatically syncronized to all connected applications. This keeps Autotask’s CRM database 100% up-to-date while automatically updating the client site at the same time.
MAXIMIZE SERVICE REVENUE
The intent of IDSync is to reduce the on-boarding complexity and costs associated with initial provisioning for new clients AND to maintain that accuracy as the client’s employees change passwords, personal information or system and data access needs. The real benefit for service providers is to accelerate their service revenue via faster on-boarding process.
