Startup California, the statewide arm of the national organization Startup America, has partnered with ieCrowd for the inaugural “Innovation Economy Expo” (ieExpo). ieExpo was created by ieCrowd, a company that acquires, incubates, and accelerates innovations, to bring together all of the resources necessary for high-growth ventures to succeed in today’s economic, regulatory, and social climates.

Startup California’s participation in the day-long event – held on May 9th, 2013, at the Ontario Convention Center in Southern California – highlights the importance of fostering a new collaborative environment for entrepreneurs and innovators to build high-growth businesses.

“Innovation Economy Expo and Startup California take the same collaborative approach to bringing business people together, which is why this event is such a good fit for us,” said Howard J. Leonhardt, Co-Leader of Startup California. “We need more efforts like this, where people who are committed to developing the next wave of business success can meet and put the pieces together,” he added.

ieExpo is a unique, crowd-driven, interactive forum designed to connect innovators and entrepreneurs with the global resources needed for success. This is one of the largest collaborative efforts in California to advance business creation and growth – and resources are coming from around the world.

Startup California is dedicated to helping companies around the state grow into major job-producing success stories by fostering relationships between these companies and others who have the entrepreneurial spirit. Participants in the effort include people who are founding their own companies, as well as entrepreneurial leaders, investors and executives.

Leaders from Startup California also will host a breakout session designed to help business leaders understand what elements must be in place to create an entrepreneur-friendly environment. The session, entitled “How to Build an Entrepreneur Ecosystem,” will show how to create a community where startup companies can take root and thrive.

“There has never been a better time to be an innovator and an entrepreneur," said Leonhardt, an entrepreneur who has founded more than 20 companies. “Business creation is critical to a sustainable economy, and that is why Innovation Economy Expo is needed now, more than ever.”
