Dan Harris, an attorney at the international law firm of Harris & Moure, is available to discuss the recent incident involving the Japanese Whalers’ capture of three Forest Rescue Australia anti-whaling activists.
Mr. Harris, along with other attorneys in his firm, represented Sea Shepherd in Japan when the Japanese authorities arrested and tried former Sea Shepherd Peter Bethune on charges stemming from Bethune's having boarded a Japanese whaling vessel. Japan charged Peter Bethune with five criminal counts and then tried and convicted him, but suspended his sentence.
Mr. Harris and his firm are also representing Sea Shepherd in an ongoing case in United States Federal Court in which the Japanese whalers are seeking to use the United States’ court system to prevent Sea Shepherd from advocating against Japanese whaling. Sea Shepherd has filed a Motion seeking to have the Judge throw that case out on various factual and legal grounds.
Harris & Moure is an international law firm with lawyers in Seattle, Washington and in Qingdao and Beijing, China.
