Keynotes on making markets in down economy. Pathfinders talk about design, food marketing, publishing, fashion, merchandising.

Entering its fourth year as a bleeding edge consultancy and conference organizer, Los Angeles-based Imprint Culture Lab comes to New York City for the first time this Fall at the Center for Architecture (536 LaGuardia Place, between Bleecker and West 3rd St.s) on Sept. 22, 2009.

This year's ICL Conference engages New Yorkers with the "Pathfinders" of an epoch-making generation. These pathfinders create inroads to new opportunities and exit roads from flailing establishments. Pathfinders are paramount in a world suddenly forced into consumer maturity. Eight exceptional pathfinders talk about the burdens of change and expectation in this watershed moment in global politics and economy.

Admission to ICL's first New York foray scales down admission and amplifies the quality of its marquee. This year, attendees get unprecedented access to our speakers as we take the keynote speech out of dark arena-seating auditoriums and into an intimate forum, at limited capacity. Meet:

Lifestyle Branding Impresarios:
Marc Ecko, jeffstaple, Paul Budnitz

Pioneers in design:
Knopf Art Director Chip Kidd, Pentagram Design principal Paula Scher

Gatekeepers of food enthusiasm:
Chow.com founder Jane Goldman, GreenMarkets Inspector General June Russell, Edible Manhattan/Brooklyn publisher Brian Halweil

The Future of Journalism:
Propublica.org Managing Editor Stephen Engelberg

Previous ICL conferences have included keynotes by champions of design (MUJI Art Director Kenya Hara), advertising (Wieden+Kennedy Executive Creative Director, John C. Jay), curation (Global selector surpreme Hiroshi Fujiwara) automotives (Chabott Engineering founder Shinya Kimura), e-tail (etsy.com Vice President Matt Stinchomb) and toys (UglyDolls founder David Horvath), to name just a few.

Imprint Culture Lab is the public face of Imprint Lab, founded to investigate global creative culture and foster cross-pollination between business and creative entities.

All-day conference to take place September 22, 2009 from 11am-5pm, followed by penthouse reception at the SoHo Grand from 6-8pm, sponsored by the hotel and Belvedere Vodka. Contact Anne Ishii, (917)446-2249 for more information.
