San Jose, CA (PRWEB) February 26, 2007

LGC Wireless, the leader in advanced in-building wireless network systems, today announced that Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, NJ has deployed its InterReach Unison® wireless system to support enhanced multi-carrier wireless cellular coverage. So far, carrier traffic generated over the system has been as high as double the expected volume, and traffic levels will soar further as The Water Club at Borgata (an 800-room boutique hotel) opens in early 2008.

While Nextel initially deployed an in-building wireless system for its subscribers (as well as hotel employees, who have standardized on Nextel phones) in 2003, Borgata chose to purchase its own multi-carrier system in 2005 in order to speed deployment and minimize disruption to the facility's public areas. On line since July 2006, the Unison system currently supports Nextel and Cingular subscribers. Sprint has also contracted for cellular coverage on the system, and other major carriers are in various stages of negotiations with Borgata.

"As the premier hotel-casino in Atlantic City, we continually strive to offer an unprecedented level of service and comfort for our guests," said John Forelli, vice president of information technology at Borgata. "We want to enable clear cellular coverage for our guests from as many carriers as possible, as quickly as possible."

Borgata selected LGC Wireless for the new in-building cellular system because LGC supplied the initial Nextel system.

"We have been impressed with the reliable equipment and outstanding service we have received from LGC Wireless since 2003," noted Forelli. "It was an easy choice to go back to them when we decided to implement multi-carrier coverage."

The Water Club at Borgata will also use LGC's in-building cellular coverage solutions.

"Cell phone coverage for guests is now table stakes in the premium hospitality sector, and we are proud to have delivered this service to the number one property in Atlantic City," said John Spindler, vice president of marketing at LGC Wireless. "We value our partnership with Borgata and look forward to addressing their needs as The Water Club nears completion."
