Key Metric Software releases OfficeStatus -- a new electronic in/out board software product designed to help organizations track and communicate employee status and availability.

Key Metric Software's latest product offering -- OfficeStatus -- distributes employee status and availability information throughout the enterprise. Built using modern web service technologies, OfficeStatus works over an organization’s LAN, WAN, or the Internet without additional firewall configuration.

The client component of the OfficeStatus solution uses "auto-sensing" technology to optionally deduce employee status based upon workstation activity, while running unobtrusively in the user's system notification tray. Staff members can explicitly change their status with a click of a mouse button, and can configure the software to notify them when the status of another user changes. User status history and staff telephone directory reports are integrated directly into the client software.

The centralized OfficeStatus Server is configured via a web-based user interface, providing access to system alerts and notifications, Active Directory user import capability, a role-based security model, and much more. Any number of custom statuses and contact information types can be added to the system.

OfficeStatus Server installs on Windows Server 2000 / 2003, while the client component is supported on any Microsoft desktop operating system from Windows 98 up. Pricing starts at $250.00 USD for 25 users. OfficeStatus can be downloaded for free from, and offers a free 30-day trial period.
