DJ I-Dee Wins 10th Annual Scribble Jam DJ Battle Competition
DJ I-Dee’s victory is a taste of things to come this summer.
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) August 15, 2006 -- With his victory at this weekend’s Scribble Jam, 19-year-old Washington, DC native DJ I-Dee proves that his incredible battle record is no fluke.
With an easy victory over DJ Sleeper in the round of eight, I-Dee moved on to the top 4 to face Wunderkut. “The battles were very technical compared to previous years,” explains I-Dee. “However, I felt that the DJs were still as entertaining as usual.” After defeating Wunderkut, I-Dee went on to face his toughest rival, DJ Etronik.
“The hardest competition was probably during the finals. I went in with two last-minute routines that I had created a couple of days before the event. I don't like going into battles under those circumstances, but I guess that my experience in that kind of setting prevailed in the end.”
Now in its 10th year, Scribble Jam, presented by Scribble Magazine, is widely recognized as the nation’s largest underground hip hop festival. I-Dee’s win at the event is even further indication that he is a force to be reckoned with in the coming months, namely at the Guitar Center Spin Off next month in San Francisco, where he is one of six finalists selected from regional qualifiers around the country.
