Extech Instruments, (http://www.extech.com), makers of the best handheld test and measurement tools, introduces the most affordable infrared-enabled multimeter ever. The new Extech EX210 is a rugged and compact multimeter complemented by a patented infrared thermometer priced 50% less than the next lowest-cost model.

Affordable 2-in-1 Meter:
Customers with tight budgets can now afford to upgrade to a quality auto-ranging multimeter with built-in IR. The new EX210 is ideal for quickly identifying overheating motors or locating hot spots on electrical panels, or HVAC vents without contact. The built-in IR thermometer with laser pointer features a 4:1 distance to target ratio and a range from -5 to 446°F (-20 to 230°C).

The 4-digit backlit display is large and easy to read. The new DMM measures current, voltage, resistance, and IR temperature. Customers who need to measure minute current readings can take advantage of low current resolution down to 0.1µA. The new EX210 permits the user to select auto- or manual-ranging and provides continuity and diode testing. Data functions include Maximum Reading and a Display Hold function to freeze a reading on the display.

The new EX210 is Cat III-600V rated making it suitable for electrical troubleshooting on electronics, appliances, inside building circuits including service panels and switchboards, distribution panels, three phase feeders and branch circuits, and single phase branch circuits connected to the service panel.

The EX210 comes complete with test leads and 9V battery. The new model is available now at a suggested retail price of $69.99 (USD, US market). It is both CE and ETL approved and can be ordered with a NIST certificate of calibration. Click here to learn more about the new EX210, or to find a distributor near you.
