The company's implementation of a world-class machining and assembly facility reassures me of Ingersoll Rand's customer focus and ongoing commitment to provide quality products and services to the Distributor Channel
Mocksville, NC (Vocus) September 15, 2009
Ingersoll Rand (NYSE: IR) hosted more than 50 members of the AIRD (Association of Ingersoll Rand Distributors) organization at its Mocksville, NC, facility today. The tour of the facility was part of the group's week-long annual meeting, which was held at Ingersoll Rand's facilities in Davidson, NC. The Mocksville Tour was included in this year's agenda to highlight the significant investment and support of Ingersoll Rand and Davie County in establishing the Mocksville facility as an Ingersoll Rand Center of Excellence. During the tour, the group saw the remodeled assembly and test areas and gained insight into efficiency generated by having the assembly area integrated with the airend manufacturing facility.
"Mocksville has had an amazing transformation over the past year or two," said Shawn Chambers, Ingersoll Rand Vice President, Distribution, for the Americas Region. "We wanted our key distributors to have the opportunity to see first-hand the investment we are making in enhancing and modernizing our compressor manufacturing in order to better address and meet their requirements and the changing needs of our customers.
AIRD President Pat Manning stated that Ingersoll Rand's effort and expense to modernize the Mocksville facility were definitely apparent. "The company's implementation of a world-class machining and assembly facility reassures me of Ingersoll Rand's customer focus and ongoing commitment to provide quality products and services to the Distributor Channel," Manning said.
The AIRD group was organized in 1970 to serve as a central resource and management voice for distributors of Ingersoll-Rand compressed air system equipment. The organization has member distributors that have a total personnel roster of nearly 1,700 employees. On average, employees have more than 10 years experience in the compressed air industry. Most service technicians hold multiple Ingersoll Rand factory certifications, and member distributors typically have in excess of 10 trucks on the road to serve customer needs.
