Breathing Color Announces Chromata White Oba-Free Glossy Inkjet Canvas
The Chromata White Glossy is a premium grade fine art inkjet canvas specially designed for high-end giclée reproductions that require exceptional color gamut and archivability. It is a bright white 20.5 mil inkjet canvas poly-cotton blend that is exceptionally stable for longevity since it is manufactured without whitening agents such as optical brightening additives (OBAs) or fluorescent whiteners.

The Chromata White Glossy is a premium grade fine art inkjet canvas specially designed for high-end giclée reproductions that require exceptional color gamut and archivability. It is the latest addition to the Breathing Color product line and complements the industry leading Chromata White matte canvas. It is a bright white 20.5 mil inkjet canvas poly-cotton blend that is exceptionally stable for longevity since it is manufactured without whitening agents such as optical brightening additives (OBAs) or fluorescent whiteners.
By eliminating these unstable whitening agents that deteriorate and yellow over time, Breathing Color expects the Chromata White Glossy inkjet canvas to be one of the most archival canvas products on the market. Despite the absence of these whitening agents it is still exceptionally white, and it also has a water resistant surface and works well with both solvent and water-based canvas varnish and/or giclee varnish such as Breathing Color's Glamour II Veneer.
The Chromata technology creates a highly stable white base with unsurpassed discoloration resistance to ultraviolet light. Color shifting is reduced by stabilizing the whiteness of the base with a special anti-oxidation technology that further protects printed images. Metamerism is also reduced by quenching the Ultra Violet excitation wavelengths resulting in a more stable illumination of an image under different spectral power distributions. The Chromata White Glossy inkjet canvas is compatible with most wide format inkjet printers on the market today, such as the Epson 9800, Epson 7800, Epson 4800, and the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF9000. This inkjet canvas is designed for pigment inks such as the Epson UltraChrome, and the new K3 inks, but will also work well with dye based inks. It is available in all roll widths, including 60" wide for the new wide format printers by Canon.
