Delta Wave Communications, Inc. is pleased to announce that they will be providing the new FleetBroadband 150 line of equipment and services. Delta Wave now offers both the Skipper FB150 and Thrane Sailor FB150 products, in addition to the higher level Fleetbroadband equipment packages.

Inmarsat FleetBroadband is the first maritime communications service to provide cost-effective broadband data and voice, simultaneously, through a compact antenna on a global basis. Based on 3G standards, FleetBroadband supports the latest IP services, as well as traditional circuit switched voice and data for legacy applications. It delivers global voice, IP data up to 150kbps and SMS.

The terminals are designed specifically for use within the maritime environment, regardless of weather conditions. As compared to current maritime broadband offerings, Inmarsat FleetBroadband equipment is much more compact, with the antenna sizes even smaller than current configurations offered to the maritime market. The antenna is about the size of a typical gallon sized paint can.

Competitively priced, the equipment offers an ideal replacement solution for Inmarsat Mini-M service, and utilizes the same hardware footprint for ease of replacement. Mark Borner, Director of Sales at Delta Wave adds: "Basically, the new service may be analogous to Mini-M service on adrenaline. While offering higher data throughput, along with very competitive per minute voice rates, there is no reason why anyone who replaces their laptop computers every so often, should not entertain the idea of upgrading their communications as well, as the equipment is not cost prohibitive, and it is actually less expensive to operate than Mini-M service."

A variety of service plans are made available, providing cost-effective solutions for marine vessels operating on a global basis, whether the requirement is for primary or backup communications applications.
