The San Diego immigration lawyers at the Golden State Law Group help people deal with complicated issues that include those relating to green cards, visas, deportation, changes in legal status, naturalization, asylum and many other serious problems. The attorneys at the firm have recently seen the results of a poll that was released regarding one aspect of immigration reform that appeared on the ABC News Web site, and they would like to encourage anyone who will be affected by this poll and this reform issue to seek immediate legal help.

Specifically, the poll at issue was conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press and USA Today and a summary of it appeared on the ABC News Web site on June 23, 2013. The article was entitled, “Public Is Split Over 'Border First' Approach to Immigration Bill.” The article reviewed the responses to the poll regarding the question of whether or not people who are currently residing in the United States illegally should be able to pursue legal status while additional border security is added.

According to the poll, 49 percent of the respondents believe that people who are currently here illegally should be allowed to pursue legal status while border security issues are handled. However, 43 percent of people believe that those who are currently living in the United States illegally should not be allowed to pursue legal status until the additional border security measures that are present in the bill are completed.

The San Diego immigration lawyers at the Golden State Law Group have recognized that immigration reform is a complicated and difficult issue that is filled with emotions being experienced by people of all different beliefs. As such, the attorneys at the firm would encourage people whose statuses are uncertain to seek immediate legal help instead of waiting for this divisive issue to be resolved. “People should not allow themselves to get caught up in a political process and the rhetoric that’s part of it. Instead, they should be proactive and clarify their statuses right away,” said David Weil, an attorney with the firm.
